What Is a Regional Plan?

A regional plan covers multiple countries within one geographic area. You install one eSIM, and it works across every country in that region. No swapping SIMs at borders, no buying a new plan for each stop.

What Is a Global Plan?

A global plan works worldwide. One eSIM, every destination we cover. The per-GB cost is higher than local or regional plans, but you don't have to think about borders at all.

Global plans are best for long-haul travelers crossing multiple regions. If you're going London to Tokyo to Sydney to New York, a global plan saves you from buying four separate plans.

The IP Question

Regional and global plans show an "IP varies by network" badge. Here's what that means:

Your data traffic exits through whichever carrier network handles your connection in that country. The exit IP may be in a different country than where you physically are. For example, if you're in Thailand on an Asia plan, your traffic might exit through Hong Kong or Singapore.

For most travelers this doesn't matter. Your data works, your maps load, your messages send. But if you need a specific country's IP for banking, streaming, or local services, buy a local plan for that country instead.

Regional vs Local: Price Comparison

Regional plans cost more per GB than local plans, but they cover more countries. The math depends on how many countries you're visiting:

• 1-2 countries: Buy local plans. Cheaper per GB, and you get a Local IP.
• 3+ countries in one region: Buy a regional plan. One eSIM is cheaper and more convenient than three separate plans.
• 3+ countries across regions: Buy a global plan. Cheaper than buying multiple regional plans.

Country Coverage Varies

Not all "Europe" plans cover the same countries. One might cover 30 countries, another 44, another 51. Always check the plan description for the full country list before you buy.

If a country you need isn't listed on a regional plan, buy a local plan for that country separately. You can have multiple eSIMs on your phone at the same time.

Can I Top Up a Regional or Global Plan?

If the plan has a Reloadable badge, yes. You can add more data without buying a new eSIM. One-time plans are single-use. Check the badge before you buy if you think you might need more data.
