Two things to check
- ✓Is your phone eSIM-ready? iPhone XS and later, Pixel 3 and later, most recent Samsungs. If you can see an "Add eSIM" option in Settings, you're good.
- ✓Is it unlocked? If you bought it outright or finished a contract, usually yes. Locked to a carrier, it won't take a second plan.
- ✓Install on wifi before you leave. The QR needs a stable connection to load once. Do it at home, not at the gate.
- ✓It sits beside your home SIM. Your own number keeps working for WhatsApp and iMessage. The eSIM only handles data.
When you land
Scan, switch, online
- →Scan the QR. It's on your order page. Add it as a new mobile plan.
- →Turn the line on. Switch your travel eSIM on and make it the data line.
- →Data roaming on. This is the one people miss. Your plan only starts once it connects to a local network.
- →Not connecting? Toggle airplane mode for 10 seconds, or pick the network manually in Settings.
